Childrens Palace Shenzhen was an national competition. The Competition task was to design a new youth and cultural center in the Lohu District of Shenzhen. Integration into the environment, connection to the nearby city park and the creation of a architectural landmarks were are the design goals. The reinterpretation of the standard design of a youth and cultural center was the central design idea. The design tries to create an accessible and public area on the ground floor. Pathways through the plot make it possible to facilitate the exchange between the public and the users. A staggering of different volumes create a fluid connection to the park. A high point / mountain is placed in the urban landscape and creates an extraordinary architecture with high recognition value.
