OCT Wuhan Bridge Design
Wuhan, a city in the east of China, is shaped by water. The city is crossed by the Yangtze River. Numerous tributaries and bodies of water can be found all over the city. The bridge as the element of connection and crossing is a very important element in Wuhan landscape. In a new area for development there are numerous bridges which will contribute with there design to a livable environment. Under the concept of „water, ship, forest and mountain“, eleven bridges were transformed into one design concept, to strengthen the recognition, some bridges are made with the same design concepts The bridge function ranges from car bridges to pure pedestrian bridges. After a long design process with many variations design ideas prevail, which are both complex and spectacular.
